United Catholic Appeal 2024-25

My brothers and sisters in Christ, all - 

One of the key ways in which you and I, together as the church in central and southern Indiana, as part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis with 126 parishes, 68 schools, six Catholic Charities agencies and many ministries, can make a difference is by supporting the annual United Catholic Appeal.

October 12-13 was the UCA Intention Weekend. Each head of household received an intention card envelope. At Masses during that weekend, you received in the bulletin a card to list your prayer intentions for the Archbishop, as well as an appeal intention card.

If you have already made a 2024-25 UCA gift, please check the box in the top corner of your intention card. Please place the card in the envelope and put it in the offertory collection.

Each year the United Catholic Appeal raises vital funds to support the ministries of the Archdiocese. These funds help us to spread discipleship, formation, and community to those we serve across central and southern Indiana.

A good way to think about the supported ministries is by using the labels of Teaching, Shepherding, and Serving. Under teaching, the UCA supports ministries such as seminarian education, vocations, Catholic Schools, catechesis, and the care and support of our retired priests. 

Under Shepherding, numerous ministries are directly supported including Youth Ministry, Intercultural Ministry, Marriage Preparation, Project Rachel, and many more. 

And under Serving, the UCA directly supports all our Catholic Charities spread throughout the Archdiocese, as well as supporting the Mother Theodore Catholic Academies, our archdiocesan center-city schools.

You do not know where to begin or how much to give? Personally, I support UCA by making a monthly gift using the safe and secure online giving portal using my age for my monthly gift amount, increasing my monthly gift by $1 each year ($49 a month in the name of St. Boniface Parish and $49 a month in the name of St. Meinrad Parish). If you have never made a gift to UCA, what about matching what you spent dining out in October or your vehicle fuel cost for a week?
