Over 60 youth, young adults, and Youth & Young Adult Coordinators from throughout the Tell City Deanery gathered on Sunday, January 8, for the deanery’s annual Epiphany celebration. Each year a select number of churches are open for tour in a particular geographic area of the deanery. Parishioners at each parish host the group by providing brief history of the parish and an architectural tour of each church. The tour also highlights the traditional Christmas decorations from German heritage found at each location. This year’s tour began with Mass at St. Augustine, in Leopold, followed by a tour of Holy Cross, in St. Croix, and St. Martin of Tours, in Siberia. Following the tour, the group gathered at the St. Martin Center on the campus of Saint Meinrad Archabbey for recreation and dinner. Throughout the year, this same group gathers for recollection, service opportunities, and community building, linking the youth throughout deanery to their Catholic faith. Parishes who participated in this year’s Epiphany celebration include: St. Augustine, St. Boniface, St. Isidore the Farmer, Holy Cross, St. Mark, St. Martin of Tours, St. Meinrad and St. Pius.
