Two high school students from St. Boniface Parish attended the “One Bread, One Cup” youth liturgical leadership conference at Saint Meinrad Archabbey in June.
Carsten King, left in photo, attended sessions on “Preaching at the Liturgy of the Hours.” He also spent the week with his group talking, reflecting, writing on brief gospel readings from morning and night prayer. He preached on the fourth evening during the Exposition of the Holy Eucharist.
Marshall Snyder attended sessions about “Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.” He spent the week learning about the Eucharist, proper etiquette for distributing Holy Communion, and how to bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound. He distributed Holy Communion during Mass on days 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Joining them was Jess Fischer, St. Boniface and St. Meinrad Evangelization and Discipleship Coordinator. She attended the adult formation session on “Next Steps (A Youth Ministry Practicum).” She spent the week in small groups with youth ministers from different parishes discussing current statistics, status of their current youth ministry programs, and next steps to get youth fully involved in the liturgy.
