Please join me in offering thanks and best wishes to two of our parish staff members who will be moving to new opportunities soon.
Taylor Blalock has been the part-time liturgical music coordinator at both parishes since Liz Hatcher’s retirement in early 2020. Taylor has led our liturgical music ministries well, particularly during the long and dark days - years - of COVID. Her love and devotion to the Mass, steady and patient presence and musical talents will be greatly missed. With her college graduation from University of Southern Indiana in May, Taylor will begin full-time employment in the areas of teaching and music ministry, while continuing to offer private lessons in piano. She has served as a member of the Worship Commission and, more recently, as a resource member of this mission.
Jan Gogel, our facilities and grounds coordinator for St. Boniface Parish and its cemetery, is also moving to a new opportunity with a full-time position at LAN Construction / Lencher’s Excavating. He began working with for the construction / excavation company in June 2021. In January 2022 he began a new position within the company as project manager/manpower. Jan’s knowledge and leadership during the past six-plus years have been essential in overseeing a variety of planned and preventive maintenance projects, including the restoration of the stained-glass windows at St. Boniface, the integration of technology and the reduced risk of high traffic and egress areas throughout buildings and grounds, and as a vital resource member of the Facilities and Grounds Commission.
Many thanks to Taylor and Jan for their years of service and leadership in our parishes!
We are deeply grateful for their compassionate service to the people of God in the parishioners, friends and neighbors who make up the parish family of St. Boniface Parish and St. Meinrad Parish. We wish Taylor and Jan great success in all their future endeavors.
