Thanks to stand chairs and others who provided input with hopes for an adjusted gathering. With the stress of family life in light of COVID-19, social and economic distress, the anticipation of students returning to the classroom, continued conversation and feedback from the local health department, the median age of specific groups identified on the picnic workers’ list, and the reality of the archbishop’s dispensation for in-person Sunday Mass through mid-August, days after the scheduled picnic date, exploring other options for gathering as a community at a later date seemed more prudent.
Summer Picnic Memorials and Honor Roll gifts received January 1 - August 2, 2020, will be recognized during the days of Christmas. All picnic donations, except for quilt monies, will be directed to the Stewards of God’s Grace Capital Campaign, which began in 2019 with the goal of $86,030. Five of the six components of the campaign have reached their goals, and most are already completed. The remaining campaign component is the replacement of the north alley from Vine Street to Highway 545, including the addition of more handicap parking located north of the church. The total project cost of this campaign component is $27,600. Still needed is $17,000, with a start date shortly after the first weekend of August. If this campaign goal is met, the project can begin on time. Make an online gift today in memory/ in honor of a loved one
