The annual St. Meinrad Parish Fall Picnic will be held on the church grounds on Sunday, September 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central Time.
Boy Scout Troop 102 will open the event with the presentation of colors and honor guard.
Fried chicken dinners will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meal includes homemade dressing, mashed potatoes, slaw, vegetables and homemade dessert.
In addition, a food court will offer German cuisine, walking tacos, corn dogs, burgers and other foods, including the parish’s famous soup that is sold by the bowl or in bulk. Homemade pie and ice cream, curly fries and lemon shake-ups also will be available.
Also opening at 10 a.m. will be the kids zone, the country store and “clowning around” with the Hadi Shrine Funsters.
Live music will be available throughout the day, with performances by Shady Tree-O, The Gatwoods, Hagedorn Family Band, and the Troesch Brothers.
Other entertainment will include cake walk, quilt raffle, theme basket raffle, bingo and a grand raffle. Architectural tours of the parish church will begin at noon and 2 p.m.
