Beginning January 30, the regular Saturday morning Mass held at the historic Monte Cassino Shrine — Saint Meinrad Archabbey’s chapel to honor the Blessed Mother — has been suspended for the time being, due to the high rate of COVID cases in the area.
Devotion at the Marian shrine began in the mid-19th century and the current shrine dates to 1870.
The shrine is open daily from dawn to dusk.
