The next Farmers to Families Food Box Distribution scheduled for Thursday, October 22, 2020, from 4-5:30 p.m. at St. Meinrad Parish, St. Meinrad.
Over 1,100 food boxes to distribute, box includes meat, dairy and produce will be available for your home or to be shared with friends or neighbors, open to the public regardless of income or need while supplies last. The USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Distribution Program aims to provide direct relief to rural communities affected by the economic impact of COVID-19, including farmers facing challenges due to the pandemic.
All patrons are to arrive at the St. Meinrad Community Center, no earlier than 4 p.m. and to keep the risk of exposure to COVID-19 low for program volunteers; all patrons are always to remain in their vehicles.
Drivers will be directed from the community center to a predetermined pick-up lane at 5th Street N and Brewery Street leading to the distribution site located at St. Meinrad Parish.
Sponsored by the Service and Outreach Commission of St. Boniface Parish and St. Meinrad Parish in Spencer County. The sponsoring organizations and program volunteers will continue to follow local public health department regulations and CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines for the health and safety of the limited volunteers and food box patrons accessing the drive-thru.
