Fulda church plans summer picnic August 1

The annual St. Boniface Parish Summer Picnic will be held on the first Sunday in August. The picnic will be on the church grounds at Fulda, Indiana, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central Time on Sunday,
August 1, 2021. Pre-order food items will have priority pick-up lines from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Parishioners, friends and neighbors, along with local businesses, are receiving an invitation to partner with us once again. Please consider supporting this annual celebration by becoming a picnic sponsor. All picnic day “In Memory / In Honor” designees will be recognized in the picnic day honor roll featured on the parish website and local media sources. All picnic sponsorship registration forms must be received by July 26, 2021.

All pre-orders must be postmarked by July 21, 2021, and received on this order form along with payment.

New for 2021:

• Expanded outdoor covered seating on the south side of the parish center and additional handicapped parking.
• Hospitality is available throughout the day, including shuttle service to and from the picnic area. Shuttle service is available with guest pickup and drop-off locations at the handicapped-accessible parking area on the north side of the historic church and at the parish center.
• Upon arrival, all patrons are invited to stop by the hospitality center located west of the parish center to purchase tickets for food and beverage stands throughout the picnic area.  The pre-ordering of group tickets sales are available through July 21, 2021. For all food and beverage items, tickets may be purchased on picnic day by cash, check, debit or credit card at the hospitality center.

This year's picnic is modified due to wholesale suppliers having a limited number of items in stock for the parish’s traditional food stands and the pandemic protocols in place for the health and safety of all patrons. Individuals 65 years or older who are immunocompromised or have pre-existing health concerns or families with children under age 12 and are not comfortable with the outdoor covered dining area are encouraged to pre-order food items (with priority pickup lines from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.) and to join virtually at www.sbcatholic.church/live.

Live music by Sweetwater Band and guided tours of the historic church, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, will be held throughout the day.

Handmade quilts from parishioners and local artisans will be available throughout the day with continuous rounds of a game of chance raffle, beginning at 10 a.m. Raffle tickets will be available by presale and on picnic day. Tickets will remain in the raffle throughout the day, providing multiple opportunities for winners. Patrons may purchase quilts outright for $500, 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the hospitality center. Must be 18 to play. Need not be present to win.

Featured food items include Fulda’s Famous Soup, sold by the bowl or bulk at the shelter house, and grilled sandwich combos at the food court. Soup by the bowl and grilled sandwich combos include a complimentary drink. Hand-dipped ice cream will be available. All food items are dine-in and carryout while supplies last. All pre-orders must be postmarked by July 21, 2021 and received on this order form along with payment. Patrons with pre-orders will receive a confirmation email with instructions on picking up their picnic patron envelope at the hospitality center on picnic day for priority pickup for both dine-in or carryout. Pre-orders will take priority on picnic day. Pre-orders unable to be filled will be honored at a later date.

All pre-order bulk soup orders will include a plastic gallon container with a lid for patron transport. The soup stand opens at 9:30 a.m. with an identifiable location for pre-order pickup. Priority pickup lines will be open from 9:30 a.m. to11 a.m. For picnic-day purchases of soup, the cost is $16 per gallon for patrons bringing their own containers for transport. On picnic day, patrons may request a plastic gallon container with a lid for an additional cost of $1 per gallon.
