St. Meinrad Parish, St. Meinrad, IN, and Historic St. Boniface Parish, Fulda, IN, in Spencer County announce the Mass schedule for Christmas and New Year’s. All times are Central Time.
On Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. at St. Meinrad Catholic Church. The 10 p.m. Mass on Christmas Eve is also known as a Blue Christmas Mass.
For some, expectations of the Christmas season can increase feelings of depression, anxiety and loss. Holidays can be painful to those who are sick, grieving a loss, living alone, have difficult family relationships or are experiencing financial difficulties. Celebrate Christmas Eve with the religious meaning of the season in a beautiful, reflective atmosphere and light a candle for your departed loved ones.
On Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, Mass will be celebrated at midnight at Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda. Also, Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Christmas Day at Saint Meinrad Archabbey; the public is welcome to join the Benedictine monks for Mass on Christmas Day.
Hymns and carols will be sung 30 minutes before Mass at the parish churches on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The Anticipated Vigil Mass for the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God (January 1), will be December 31 at 4:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Parish, with the patriotic rosary beginning at 3:30 p.m. followed by hymns and carols. On New Year's Day, Wednesday, January 1, Mass will be celebrated for the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God at 8:30 a.m. at St. Meinrad Catholic Church. Also, Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on January 1 at Saint Meinrad Archabbey; the public is welcome to join the Benedictine monks for Mass on New Year's Day.
