Christmas and New Year Mass Schedule

St. Meinrad Parish, St. Meinrad, IN and St. Boniface Parish, Fulda, IN, in Spencer County announce the Mass schedule for Christmas and New Year’s. All times are Central Time.

On Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. at St. Meinrad Catholic Church and at 5:30 p.m. at Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church.

On Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, Mass will be celebrated at midnight at Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda.

All Mass times are without seat reservations. There are no reserved seats. The maximum seating capacity for in-person celebration of Mass and other services is at 40% of the total capacity. The total capacity for seating is 320 for Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church with a maximum 128 seats for individual seating and 400 for St. Meinrad Catholic Church with a maximum 160 seats for individual seating. This reduction allows parishes to continue to serve the faithful while remaining vigilant to local, state and CDC guidelines for slowing the spread of COVID-19. To maximize the seating capacity for all Christmas and New Year’s Masses, identifiable ministers of hospitality will greet all parishioners, friends, and neighbors at main entrance of the church to guide individual and families to the next available pew beginning with the north section of pews. The handicapped entrance will be open for entering and exiting the church. Those requiring handicapped accessibility to the church are asked to park in the designated spaces and enter through this entrance to be seated in the designated seating.

Individuals and guests are encouraged to use online giving at https://sbcatholic.church/gift and https://smcatholic.church/gift or by placing stewardship offering envelopes through the secure mail slot located at the east entrance of the parish office or mailing to PO Box 8, Saint Meinrad, IN 47577-0008. Receptacles available at all entrances of the church to place your stewardship offering envelopes upon arrival for Mass. 

Individuals 65 years or older, who are immune compromised or have pre-existing health concerns; or families with children that may be uncomfortable remaining in the pew; and those who have had COVID-19 symptoms in the last 14 days are encouraged to join us virtually at https://sbcatholic.church/live and https://smcatholic.church/live.
 
Standing in areas throughout the church where seating with physical distancing is not possible will be not permitted. Congregating in the narthex, vestibule, and other indoor spaces before, during and after Masses will not be permitted and restroom facilities will be limited. Access to choir loft limited to liturgical musicians and their immediate family. Seating for all will begin 40 minutes before each scheduled Mass. For the reception of Holy Communion, the faithful will remain in their pew, no procession during the Communion Rite following the Eucharistic Prayer. For the health and safety of all, parish facilities, including the church, are cleaned and sanitized daily and between each service, using a hydrostatic fogging spray machine.

Hymns and carols will be sung 30 minutes before Mass at the parish churches on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The Vigil Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God (January 1), will be, Thursday, December 31 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Parish, with the patriotic rosary beginning at 2:55 p.m. followed by hymns and carols. On New Year's Day, Friday, January 1, Mass will be celebrated for the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God at 8:30 a.m. at St. Meinrad Catholic Church.
