#GivingTuesday is a worldwide day dedicated to giving back and celebrating generosity. Built on the gratitude felt during the Thanksgiving holiday and following the consumer-centered events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On #GivingTuesday, charities, families, businesses, community centers, churches, and students worldwide will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
#GivingTuesday brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners— nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals—to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness— little gestures of love that Pope Francis encourages.
It’s a simple idea. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season when many think about end-of-year giving. On #GivingTuesday we are asking parishioners, friends and neighbors of St. Boniface Parish and St. Meinrad Parish in Spencer County, Indiana, to help support our mission and ministry.
It is never to early to start thinking about year-end charitable giving. When you itemize deductions, funds used to make gifts are subtracted from the amount subject to tax. This means the higher your tax bracket, the more you save. Regardless of your income tax bracket, charitable gifts can provide welcome savings at tax time. Additionally, you can feel good about being a thoughtful steward of your resources and supporting your parish community.
Since 2012, #GivingTuesday has been a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Please help us spread the word about Giving Tuesday! Email. Facebook. Twitter.
#GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; providing a platform to encourage the donation of time, treasure, and talents to address local needs.
Consider a gift to one or more parish ministries– from Historic St. Meinrad Catholic Church to St. Meinrad Parish Cemetery. Or one of our collaborators like the Martin’s Cloak Food Pantry, the Perry County Community Foundation, the Spencer County Community Foundation or the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal – United Catholic Appeal.
