Giving Tuesday—the annual day set aside to make a gift to charitable organizations—is November 28 this year. A gift to St. Boniface Parish or St. Meinrad Parish can be matched at 50 cents per dollar raised, up to $20,000. If the $20,000 goal is met, an additional $10,000 will be received from Catholic Community Foundation Inc.
Gifts to these endowments will be matched: St. Boniface Parish: Endowment for Pastoral Ministries (4852.300) St. Meinrad Parish: Endowment for Facilities and Grounds (4852.200) Thus far, St. Meinrad has met its goal ($22,806), and St. Boniface has reached $12,608.
Gifts received through December 31, 2023, are eligible for the matching gift program and can be made in cash or through a will, trust or estate. Check with your financial advisor or instruct your IRA custodian to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from an IRA directly to your parish.
Please make your check payable to the parish church, clearly marking the endowment name on the memo line. If you prefer online giving, use the Quick Links at the top of this page to make a one-time or recurring gift.
#GivingTuesday is a worldwide day dedicated to giving back and celebrating generosity. Built on the gratitude felt during the Thanksgiving holiday and following the consumer-centered events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On #GivingTuesday, charities, families, businesses, community centers, churches, and students worldwide come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
#GivingTuesday brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners— nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals—to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness— little gestures of love that Pope Francis encourages.
It’s a simple idea. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season when many think about end-of-year giving. On #GivingTuesday we are asking parishioners, friends and neighbors of St. Boniface Parish and St. Meinrad Parish in Spencer County, Indiana, to help support our mission and ministry.
It is never to early to start thinking about year-end charitable giving. When you itemize deductions, funds used to make gifts are subtracted from the amount subject to tax. This means the higher your tax bracket, the more you save. Regardless of your income tax bracket, charitable gifts can provide welcome savings at tax time. Additionally, you can feel good about being a thoughtful steward of your resources and supporting your parish community.
Since 2012, #GivingTuesday has been a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Please help us spread the word about Giving Tuesday!
#GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; providing a platform to encourage the donation of time, treasure, and talents to address local needs.
