Confirmation: Serving others
A big part of preparation for the Confirmation is learning to recognize the needs of others and work toward filling those needs in response to our call to Christian service.
Since the beginning of the Church, Christians have worked to care for the poor, the needy, the outcast, and the weak.
Part of living our faith is keeping our eyes and hearts open to see and respond to the needs of others.

October 20: World Mission Sunday - Pray: Loving God, we pray for missionaries who answer the call to serve. Amen.
October 22: Saint John Paul II - This Polish Pope spoke eight languages, visited 129 countries, and worked for peace in our world. Shot and wounded in1981, he forgave the man who tried to kill him. He started World Youth Day to gather young adults from all over the world.
October 24: Saint Anthony Mary Claret - A Spaniard born in 1807, Anthony founded the Claretian orders of priests and nuns and served as Archbishop of Santiago, Cuba. Anthony took part in the First Vatican Council, served as spiritual counselor to Queen Isabella II of Spain, and supported the Catholic press.
