Annual Event Informs Parishioners about Rites and Responsibilities
Each fall, St. Boniface and St. Meinrad parishes host a free seminar, “Dying with Dignity: Catholic Rites and Your Responsibilities. The date for the 2025 seminar has not yet been determined.
The free seminar is open to all and features information on Catholic advance directives, funeral options and expressions, and estate planning. Those attending are welcome to bring along their POA and others with whom they are discussing these arrangements.
Join us for an information-only session on the basics of funeral and estate planning and considerations for leaving a Catholic legacy. We'll explore ways to bring peace, protection, and purpose to some of life's biggest decisions.Speakers

Cheryl Bruner
Cheryl concentrates her law practice in Estate Planning and Elder Law at a practice in Louisville, KY. She drafts revocable living trusts, wills, irrevocable asset protection trusts, powers of attorney (financial and medical surrogacy), and advanced directives/living wills. She works with clients on trust administration and probate of estates. Cheryl’s practice includes counseling individuals on the various ways to accomplish their charitable goals, both during life and upon their passing.
Cheryl’s husband, Bart Bruner, is a teacher and football coach at St. Xavier High School. They have two adult children and are members of St. Michael Catholic Church where they’ve spent many years of active participation. Cheryl has served as a member of the Parish Council, School Advisory Board, Capital Campaign Leadership Team, Summer Picnic Co-Chair, and Girl Scout Troop Leader. She and her husband volunteer at the Cathedral of the Assumption lunch program with a group of friends.
Cheryl is an active civic volunteer as well. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Greater Louisville, and has served several years as Chair of the Annual Giving Campaign.
