The Dale Women's Organization is requesting assistance in providing toys for children at Christmas in the North Spencer County community. This year is the 35th year for this ongoing project which collaborates with the North Spencer Community Action Center (NSCAC) in Dale, Indiana. NSCAC provides the names and ages of over 200 low- and moderate-income children who are in need.
The Toys for Kids Program is different from the Angel Tree Program, whose mission is to provide clothing to children. Toys received are requested to be new and unwrapped for newborn to eighteen years old and still in school. Older age children's toys are needed the most. Suggestions are blankets, board games, boys' wallets, games, hairdryers, journal sets, Legos, model kits, nail polish, puzzles, radio control cars, sports equipment (junior sizes). Your generosity will directly benefit children and their families in Spencer County.
When dropping off toys, use the handicap entrance and place items in the box located at St. Mary's altar. Parish churches are open daily from dawn to dusk.
The deadline for toy pickup is December 8. Contact Sue Kloeck at (812) 357-5572, Service and Outreach Commission Chair, for more information.
