Handmade quilts from parishioners and local artisans will be exhibited on Sunday, July 16, in anticipation of Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church Summer Picnic on Sunday, August 6, and St. Meinrad Catholic Church Fall Picnic on Sunday, September 17.
The exhibit will be open on Sunday, July 16 at Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. St. Meinrad Catholic Church exhibit will be open from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Parishioners and guests are invited to visit the exhibits and to vote for the quilts to have the honored of being raffled on the Special Quilt Raffle at each picnic. Special quilts highlight the fabric and pattern selection, the task of cutting each fabric piece, and sewing it together so fabric pieces align as perfectly as possible. A high quality quilt will have 6 to 8 stitches per inch. A very good quilt will have over 50,000 stitches, that are even and uniform.
