The Memorial Mass will be held at 8:30 a.m. Central Time on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Saint Meinrad Catholic Church in Saint Meinrad, Indiana. The event is open to the public.
One of the most important duties of a local council is to remember their deceased members each year. A council customarily holds a Memorial Mass for the deceased members, generally held in November when the Church celebrates All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. All family members of the deceased are welcome to attend the Mass and participate in the celebration.
The Mass will be attended by current members of Council #5599, and widows and families of deceased members. The names of the deceased members from the council who have died within the past year will be read during the Mass. Upon arrival in the narthex of the church, a family member will receive a flower boutonniere in memory of the deceased member. Deceased members loved ones will be recognized and receive a blessing during Mass. Due to COVID-19 protocol this year there will be no breakfast to follow.
