Important information updates regarding the local plan for the reopening of St. Boniface Parish and St. Meinrad Parish in Spencer County
The local plan for our parish family continues to reflect aspects of Governor Holcomb’s road map to “Back on Track Indiana” – Stage 4 that began on Friday, June 12 as well as the resources that Archbishop Thompson and the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Office of Worship have provided for the Plan for Reopening of Churches and Resuming the Celebration of Public Sunday and Weekday Masses and the other Sacraments throughout the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
Effective June 13, 2020, an adjustment to our local plan has been introduced. Parishioners should consider putting on a face covering before entering the church building – Stage 2 stated – recommend putting on a face covering before entering the church building. Parishioners are to continue to access only pews marked available.
For the health and safety of priests serving our parish family, all individuals accessing a sacristy must have a face covering.
All other aspects of the local plan for our parish family remain in place.
The pastoral council will now start reviewing “Back on Track Indiana” - Stage 5 to begin on July 4. Adaptations to our local plan will soon be outlined in an upcoming weekly bulletin for scheduling and accessing the public indoor spaces of parish facilities at 50% for parish sponsored programs and activities.
Please remember Places of Worship can continue to slow the spread of COVID-19 and help protect vulnerable members and guests at the celebration of public Sunday and Weekday Masses and the other sacraments. Each of us can do our part, and collectively, our parish family can do its part to slow the coronavirus spread.
