St. Boniface Parish and St. Meinrad Parish in Spencer County combine efforts to collect items for personal hygiene packets for area CASA Agencies. Hygiene packets are available through the CASA Perry County and CASA Spencer County.
For several years, students have gathered items and created packages through its Catholic Social Ministry program as part of the parish based F3 (family faith formation). In Project Lucy, students collect and pack hygiene products for children and youth in the local CASA programs. The students also create blankets for children and youth assisted by area CASA agencies through Project Linus.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the parish-based F3 (family faith formation) Catholic Social Ministry program has had limited opportunity to engage in the work of Project Linus and Project Lucy. As the church approaches the 40 Days of Lent, Father Anthony asks parish families and parish-sponsored organizations to focus their efforts and support this local drive while continuing to pray for our neighbors. "As Christians, we hear Jesus say in Matthew 25:40, 'whatever you did for one of these least of mine, you did for me."'
Drop boxes are available at churches through Wednesday, March 26, to receive your gifts of hygiene products. Parishioners, friends and neighbors to use the handicap entrance and place items in the box located at St. Mary's altar. Parish churches are open daily from dawn to dusk.
F3 students are encouraged to bring items to the St. Boniface Parish Center, Room 106, on Wednesday evenings through Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
